If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the designated agent above. It must include:
We will forward your counter-notification to the person who submitted the notice. If they do not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you from the activity, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notification.
Knowingly misrepresenting that material was removed by mistake may make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). The same is true of a takedown notice that knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing.
Content removed following a valid copyright notice results in a strike against the account that posted it. Strikes lead to escalating restrictions and, in appropriate circumstances, permanent termination of the account. A strike is removed if the claimant retracts the notice, or if you submit a valid counter-notification and the material is restored. See our Terms of Service for the full policy.
